Hi,

While trying to find info on a Tiger 1 used by the allies in the Netherlands I found these photos.

Hi VK,

Yeah, that was me! When I was researching Cuckoo I found one reference to a Tiger 1 captured by the (possibly) Coldstream Guards, (possibly) in the Netherlands.

Whether the reference is correct I don't know because I couldn't find any corroberation.

Cheers

That StuG would make a good model,I've had that pic for some years in Squadron's Sturmgeschutz in action its a nice big clear print with some interesting details like an MP44 in the MG mount

Nice pictures . I see the Stug has the travel barrel lock and zimmerit , just goes to show that things listed in order in books are not always as seen in real combat pictures.

until that pic I always thought that travel lock came after zimmerit period, then again Stugs are often a mix of old and new due to repairs,

Well I think we can be pretty certain that the travel lock was a factory fit, most waffle zim StuG did'nt have them, and had the old type MG shield, but there's always exceptions esp with StuG,I've got a pic of a StuH 42 with non standard travel lock and an over size saukopf, early production saukopf without zim,mid prod sq mantlet with pz IV style zim and smoke launchers and some with tile pattern zim, some ausf F's were retrofitted with saukopf, another StuH with saukopf was in unit with StuG's with squared mantlet with co-ax with unusual reinforcing ring, and late type schurzen, almost anything goes!
