UNDERCOATED T-55 enigma pics update

Post by mcevoyi »

hi all

like to say sorry first to the moderators ... i would have added the update's to my thread . but for some reason beyond my understanding the site ? pc ?.. will not let me add

so as you all can see i have done a bit more over the last two days .. its realy been a case of adding detail
which i find the best parts of doing a tank .... intereting to see just how many differences there are betweens tanks ..

there is still a bit to do .. realy ..its clening up ... and few bits of small detial ...
i hope tomorow .. to at least get the first undercoat on the t-55 ... i may do gray first // which i dont usualy do .. i tend to go redbrown .... but as this is desart sand ... i feel the redbrwon my show through
and as the tank was a hand me down form the russians ... i will coat the tank with a nice russian green
and the the upgrade in a very pail redbrown .... then pre shade all the lowspots in black .... to hep define the pannel lines ... then followed by a coat of ultra sticky hairsparay and salt ... for the weathering process
and finaly he beginnings of the topcoats of desart sand ...and patches ? or light or mid green ?

gosh that was ...not to interesting ...

let the pics do the talking

UNDERCOATED: T55 ENIGMA

Post by mcevoyi »

hi all

well the first coat of paint .. gray undercoat ... and its the first time that the t-55 looks like its one tank and not just a pile of plastic ... what a difference a few hours of prep and paint make

i am quite impressed with my self .. for a change ....

i have to head back to work tomorow so no more work on the t-55 for 4 days .. time for the undercoat to cure ...cant wait to start painting the proper top colours .. and i am realy looking forward to that because i am going to go to town..with this ....

any way pic time

and sorry the two pic are much brighter that i thought

Iain, I know little about the Soviet cold war armor, but this is awesome.Really impressive work, some may say the T-55 has not been available long enough to have others try their hand at building this Tank. Well I say this, your build is the standard for others to try and achieve. No matter who or when I will find myself looking at a T-55 and considering how it would look next to this fine tank.

Well Done! Iain. After all it is just my humble opinion, Saxondog
