Seems to be a much better hull now than before, good job. You might ask Dave if he can get you a Asiatam component tray like the ones in the Tiger hull, they are not expensive and would work very well with your layout. Seems I paid less than 10us for mine. The tray will allow you to mount your RX18 elevated and if you like you can add a fan under the RX18 . Then to service your tanks electronics is simple and compact easy to organize the wires and allow a certain amount of elevation encase of water in the hull.

centering the turret
cut out the turret ring(i think thats what it is called)
13.jpg
make a new turret base
14.jpg
refit ring to new base in the center of turret
15.jpg
22.jpg
the turret now rotates on center but will be to far forward on the tank.

i cut out the top hull

then after a bit of measuring to reposition the turret in the correct position i cut a strip off the back of the removed hull
18a.JPG
then added plastic sheet to strengthen the top hull

then glued top hull in place plus the removed strip now at the front

That looks really good to me, but I must ask was it worth all the work? When I repainted the top deck of my Tiger and added the texture using the baking soda technique I considered this repair but felt I lacked the skill. Just as a point of interest why did Heng Long design the off set turret in the first place?

while the tiger is apart i thought why not have a go at building a turret protection ring, made a mess of three the fourth ring i fitted. I think HL just set out making toy tanks but have now realised there is a growing market for the modeler who cannot afford the tamiya range of tanks. I try my best to turn toys into models, when a got my first scalextric set it was not long before i bought toy plastic cars ford falcons/ford mustangs/ford mach1/ford mach2/cobras etc which where giro motors, used the body shells every body wanted a new scalextric ford falcon untill i told them i had built the cars myself. Hope i can keep on modeling for a few more years it does not matter if your model is not spot on detail wise, if your are happy with your finnished model/plane/boat/car/tank or what every you are building then great.lets keep on modeling
