Finished Panther G

Post by Panther_John »

Hi all, thought it was time to show my Panther now it's finished. I wasn't going to do a build thread just in case i got it a bit wrong, the only big thing i've done is replaced the radio gear from an old HL Tiger so now i have sound. Found some mesh for a 1/35 scale fence and did the engine grills but ran out on the last one, so i left that missing. I impressed myself with the milliput welding and built up the brackets for the tracks. After reading the forum about the aerial on HL tanks i did the coiled up wire inside mod. Thats about it but i don't think it'll ever be finished, no doubt i'll add things as i go. Hope you like it.

Have fun, John

Excellent paintwork, like the weld seam detailing and the spare track brackets. The command figure is well done, over all a really nice Panther.

Thanks all for the great comments guys, i enjoyed the re-build on this. I forgot to mention the red oxide primer is just that, but when i did the camo it looked too "red". It wasn't until the weathering was done that all became one, a lot of first's on this Panther too. I mixed up some Johnson Klear with one drop of Vallejo German Dark Green and one drop of Vallejo Black and it made up a nice substitute for the Mig Rainmarks. The weld seam was a first too, i've tried and tried again on 1/35 scale but this was better as i could see what i was doing lol. The HL commander that i got was rubbish, i use Dragon's Joachim Peiper i built some time ago.

Thanks again, John

Congratulations also from me.
If I may the only thing I am not convinced that the grates are back to the air, that I have mounted this way: :/

However, each model is free to see their model as he pleases. ;)
Compliments, because I like it anyway.
