A sneak preview of my Tiger, a work in progress. It has had alot of mods inc the painstaking turret re-align. I'm really happy so far except for its heart, she is still empty as I have had so much trouble with the elmod setup. I just can't get it to work!
Still a few cosmetic details to add, rear air cleaner hoses and front hull vent. Have decided not to mess with the rear turret bin.
Can't decide on a turret number, I know there were some Tigers in Afrika without so I may leave it.
Hope you enjoy, more to follow....

Wow, excellent. Cracking shade of yellow. Looks great with the Pz III.
Hope you get the elmod working. I've not got as far as that.

subtle shading, good tone,if you do want to number your Tiger there were about 11 of your type ie standard front mudguards, they all served in 504 abt they carried a rhombus white with red stripe tactical mark as well as tiger symbol, small balkenkreuz and solid red numbers 1st komp only afaik, the other tanks in said unit were older and transfered from 501 abt and seem to have kept numbers they were given while seconded to 10 pz div, 7-8 komp large numbers white outline red infill before that they had large no's 1-2 komp and were painted grey green RAL 7008 over the top of dk yellow leaving yellow infill they had larger crosses, the most suitable numbers for your type are 112,131,142,there are known photos of these, other pics dont show the numbers, they are solid red and rather small (about 30% height of turret)and placed in near centre, pics of bovington Tiger 131 pre restoration are best ref for all markings for 504 abt so any number you like starting with 1 is possible but there was only about 11-12 (4 platoons of 3 each?)of your type that might help you figure it out.altogether 501 and 504 destroyed 300 allied tanks, only 30 odd Tigers were sent to Africa nearly half lost in combat and 20 odd destroyed by own crews

Excellent, just a fine example of that group of German Armor that was wasted through lack of material support. The smoker is a unit you have built or purchased? Saxondog

Love my little pz III as it was my first one. Very easy to work on and alot of fun, I changed just about everything, you can find lots of threads to help you out.
I changed all running gear and track to metal, raised return rollers and added 3:1 gearboxes took off all molded tools and added metal ones changed around turret side hatches took out LED in mantlet added metal MGs with LEDs changed front lights to metal with more subdued LEDs, took out BB gun and replaced with correct scale barrel with asiatam recoil unit and high intensity flash bulb fitted circuit board to stop the 'HL jerk' when firing and bridged the transmitter fire button with the left recoil stick, removed antenna and fitted internal coil antenna then fitted correct scale folding antenna on side of hull, fitted air intakes and grills to side of hull, cut off all plastic bolt heads and rivots and replaced with scale metal ones, added a proportional super smoker and painted with halford's auto body spray filler/primer as I left my air brush back in Oz.
I think I have covered just about all my mods and I'm still going after putting elmod in my Tiger it makes the HL RX18 board look primitive so I may try the new SLU board in the PzIII, I learnt lots with this one and preped me for the work on my Tiger. Problem is now I can't stop, love it!
Big tip is to research, search the forums and as I'm a perfectionist I checked out lots of period photo's and a couple of trips to the tank museum.
All the best,

Mic..
