hey guys
iv been working on my tank for the last month, got all of my upgrades installed and the paint job done but iv now gone backwards and i'm rearranging the internals.
I added metal tracks, running gear, gear box, idler adjuster and a stiffening rod at the rear.
Everything was going swimmingly until i stupidly tried to trim a wire while the battery was plugged in and on.
Nice load of sparks and a wisp of smoke.
Iv got an RX 13 board is their any way i could easily find what iv fried n replace or shall i just get a rx-18.
If i got a new board is it a simple swap out with the old board i wont need a new receiver.
My other questions are about upgrading my motors to 400's, how do i remove the gears from my current motor (the small brass driver gear) and put them on my new ones or should i buy new ones
what should i do about bracing/mounting the gearboxes on a metal plate to stiffen them up.
Lastly what should i use to grind my gear boxes in they are making and awful racket,
Will post some photos later today

Hi MASG44, :~
The 400 motor is a good choice plenty of power. Pulling the brass pinion gear off can be done,it depends on your level of modelling / mechanical knowledge. If you want send me a PM and I will try and answer your questions with photos, and I'll do all I can to help.
Regards, :~ Alb.

Hi guys
Here are a few photos from before i started gutting the tank. Main board will be with me tommorow and i shall wire it in and finaly bolt my modded 3-1 gear boxes in and she how she handles.
Iv got my 400 motors in and also have space in the rear of the tank for two batteries, on for the tank and on for the sound so we are all set.
Your thoughts would be great, also oif any one can give me the size of the crosses used on the tanks and the height of unit markings i can get them painted on.
Also what do i need to do for motor suppression, my old motors have very small capacitors on them what type should i by and how do i attach them to the motors?

Hi Mark, :~
If you still have the plastic tracks, then I would recommend that you replace the 'one piece' cast spare track with some of your original tracks...it looks so much better..and is so easy to do.
The size of the crosses and the tank number can vary a great deal the 'Das Reich' wolf-hook can be obtained as a decal, the usual reference site 'Wacky's Tiger 1 colours' seems to be down at the moment, which is a real pity as it had about 100 different side view pictures of Tiger 1's.
Alan Hamby's site is an Excellent site for refencing the Tiger 1 including model changes etc and it has an excellent paint section in colour.

I have kept a few of them in a file, from the wackys site so if you PM me your email address I can send them to you.
