Any 1/8 jagdpanther/panther detail parts out there?

Post by JP 233 »

I Know this is a very long shot and that a lottery win is more probable, but you never know unless you ask :D and sometimes luck sometimes smiles upon you (eternal optimist) :haha: . Is there anyone out there who has, or knows the whereabouts of any decent 1/8 detailing parts suitable for the Jagdpanther. Including tool set, fire extinguisher etc. I thought I'd ask before I have to scratch build :/ . Thanks

I'd have thought the best bet would be to contact Mark at Mark-1-Tank.

I know that he's not really doing 1/8th scale any more but have thought that either he or Alex (the Russian designer/builder) must have at least some 1/8th detail parts knocking around.

Hi,

That's useful to know that Mk1 Tanks used to do 1/8th scale stuff as I was looking for a 1/8th scale German tank commander and associated parts but the nearest I could find is the 1/6 Action Man type, or 1/10 HM Armed Forces figures.

Hi,

You will have to search for them, but they are around. If you go to the UK Tank Club website and use the search facility I think there was a thread about it some time ago, this might help. I know there is an MG34 available from somebody.
Many of the tools etc on my 1/8 Panther I scratch built using odds & sods from my scrapbox.
The only things I haven't come across are a decent 1/8 jack and realistic figures.

Personally I like 1/8 scale. It is big enough to be impressive yet small enough to be liftable (just) by one person.

No unfortunately not, I asked the question a while back.

I'm going to try and paint up one of the mig/young 1/9th or 1/10th resin bust and see how it looks for size. Otherwise it will be hatches closed!

I've got a jack and mg 34 sorted, looks like Ill be scratching the rest.

I must admit I like 1/8 scale as well for the same reason. Not too big, or unwieldy and a nice size to work with. I thought 1/9,1/10 figures was a reasonable compromise. So the mig/young figures are easy to get hold of as one would be perfect for one of my tanks.

Verlinden do three figures in 200mm which is close enough to 1/8th I believe,
bit pricy but from what I have found it's them or nothing!
The first guy wouldn't take much to convert to a JP tanker.

If you get in touch with Victor at http://www.tankmodel.com" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; he can supply a few parts made to order. His english (he's in hong kong) is a bit hit and miss. They are not cheap and you may have to wait a while. They are all metal and probably not armorpax standard in thier detail but a decent representation, us 1/8 beggars cant be choosers. I've used a few of his parts in my jagdpanther rebuild thread in the larger scale military section if you havent already had a look.
cheers
