JagdTiger convert?

Post by JagdTiger2 »

Fellow Tankers, hello from a newbie tanker in the states...
I have a request that I have not found with a brief search of this site.
I want a JagdTiger but a good one.
Not sure about the Matoro <SP> one from what I have been reading lurking on the forums...
Are there any good mods to make a JagdTiger from something else? I have seen the very expensive ($1,000.00+) mods for a Tamiya KT to a JT but I can not really afford that (nor the Tamiya KT) right now.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thank you for the group and the great info.

In all honesty there are a few options to build a JT, the best of them probably being the Tamiya KT kit and the use of Wecohe's parts to complete it. Yes, that option is expensive, but it is the best option for a well built kit. If you go cheaper, you run the risk of having a relatively expensive kit that just isn't good enough...

hi there JT2 ..
the matoro jagdtiger is ..
crap .....
it way to short .. the upper hull ' castle ' is far too small
and the sides of the castle are different angle to the hull ... you can see the different angle ....

i would find a second hand kt and chopped it up .. and rebuilt it ...

If you go to the Tamiya America link, hull, wheel bushings, control arm mounting brackets are on close out. For less than 25.00 us you could have a good start, the scratch built route may be the best if you have the desire and the skill? Control arms and wheels are the problem, tracks,Drive sprockets and idler wheels can be had for 50-70 us from the on sale board @matomart. That leave the lower hull and some plasticard, and possibly a few parts here and their and you will have your Jagdtiger.
