TEMPORARY winter camo???

Long snowy winter here. Want to add winter camo to this KT but it must be totally reversible. Is there any "whitewash" that could be washed off with water/mild cleaner in the spring? The top finish is Krylon clearcoat - pretty tough and water doesn't bother it.
Or did they ever just use white camo net/tarps for winter camo?
The tan/green/brown looks out of place in the snow....

Dan,the chalk type water color paint that kids use in the lower grades to finger paint has the right look and should be easy to wash off. Maybe a test on a piece of painted plasticard with the clear coat you used, Possibly this will get the result you are after. Do you have a Knowledge Tree store in your area? They have this paint? Also following your lead I finally primed my King Tiger and since we had an ice storm today i'm trying to catch up on these projects. Might ring you tomorrow if I get a chance,I have a question about the Zimmerite film.

I spoke to an old panzer tanker who spent time in Russia and when I asked him about winter whitewash camo his answer was "you must have seen the publicity tank! We 'borrowed' white sheets, or just shovelled snow on the tank. We never got time to paint it."
We know however that lots of tanks were whitewashed but that was how he saw it.

Sax - I once put watecolor paint on a painted model. The paint film washed off later, but it left a "cloudy" white haze - like a stain in the original paint - that wouldn't come off. I'll look for the brand of paint you mentioned and try it.

jrc- low on food, fuel, ammo, and warm clothes - I imagine they didn't have freeze-proof buckets of white wash available.... stolen dirty sheets and snow do sound like great ideas for camo. Thanks for the ideas.
It's 20 below zero here now - a lot of metal stuff outside has a haze of frost on it - nature providing the camo...

saxondog recommends chalk-type kids paint. couldn't find it so far. yellowshaker recommends ground white chalk. I have that and will give it a try.

Tried white chalk. Ground it very fine. Only a very thin coat stayed on, could hardly see it. And the least bit of moisture would wash it off.
All came off easily. (But I know that darker color chalks I use for weathering will stain - can't always get them off)

So I'm continuing to look for the water based "chalk paint" reco'd by saxondog.

It's made by Crayola , and they have it at Knowledge tree. It is listed under water base finger paint. My daughter the painter may have some then I could test it on painted side Schurzen panels I removed from my Jagdpanther? I'll let you know Dan.

Thanks for the reference pics. I like the one that looks like a shabby attempt to coat the whole tank (#4, top row)...
I whitewashed the whole tank last night. Will take pics outside later today when it warms up a bit - it's -15F here now and lots of snow - like Russia.
