yeah that would be great, but you'd need a 1/16 boat, and you could have multiple people controlling the boats various turrets ect.

that would be fun, and when its destroyed have it smoke like crazzzy!!! ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

cheers,

Matt

I don't think I would want a battle system in the helicopter because it will fall out of the sky when it shuts down LOL

No laughing matter... :o   There are guys working out the system right now!!! The plane or heilcopters will loose power enough that they have to land but not crash! I though we would just incorperate the guys who blast there ships with real B'B's and sink them for real, but I like Petes & Your idea, its  a little more practical,, then haviing to fish them from the pond! ;

I can't see why the HL controls would not work great on on some of the duel engine boats on the market.I think they could make a great control for a war ship for the fact they allready have the ability to operate a deck gun.If HL ever made these controls with the ability to operate "one" truly digital proportional servo,it would open the door to use these controls for all kinds of projects.Blitz,you and Darkith need to bang your heads togeather and come up with one of these.Every one would want them,even me.  ;D ;D

Tankhobby's IR system would be perfect for helicopters as it does not slow or shutdown the vehicle (unless you add his optional power-off relay). It does light a bunch of LED's to signify its hit, and (I think) it turns off the IR emitter once its "destroyed" - needing the player to land and hit the reset button. The only drawback is that the circuit board is rather large  :(

The Blitz is working his magic on my IR receiver boards at the moment, so I'll have to test them and confirm the operation for you guys once I get them back in a couple of weeks  ;) . In the meantime I'll contact Nick and see if he is interested/able to shrink the circuit board to fit on a RC 'chopper...

Cheer's
Mart

(P.S. I'm looking forward to all the Whirlwind/Crusaider AA/M42 Duster converstions that will suddenly become a "must have" as a result of this ;D ;D )

I got an email back from Nick (rctankhobby.com), he's already working on shrinking his circuit board and he's interested in adapting it to a heli (or a boat) if somebody has one that they can give him specs for (ie max cirboard size / weight).
He does need a conventional RC system to trigger the firing circuit tho, so buying one of those cheap toy heli's won't help (unless you can adapt one to a 35MHz / 2.4 GHz system?  ??? )
