Catch 'em young

Post by jdflute »

Some years back when I first got into Tanking, my eldest wanted one too.
So I bought him a WSN T34/85 gave it a quick paint job and some personalized detailing and I had a very happy three year old (Jacob).
Fast forward five years, and we had a WSN T34/85 with blown electrics gather dust on a shelf in my workshop when I struck upon the idea of installing HL replacement parts. However, as soon as I started stripping it down I had a very unhappy three year old (Oscar) asking daddy where his tank was????

Well it took me a while but both of the boys tanks are finished.
Jacob's T34 has all new electronics, HL RX18 and reciever and a brand new recoil system, as well as the IR battle system. Look carefully at the side of the mantel and you will see a stubby IR barrel. I also added a working machine gun via some salvaged fiber optic cable which is pretty cool! :geek:

Oscar's first tank pretty much had the same build as the WSN T34, it started life in an unconvincing yellow with an air soft mechanism (definitely not suitable for Oscar) and after a couple of test colours, I finally mixed one I was happy with. Add a little weathering and voila!!!

So now it has been boxed up for Santa to deliver on the 25th.

My 1/12th Abrams needs a new speed controller before it is up a running again, but this is what started it all

i love and agree with this philosophy. my grandson and i have spent many wonderfull hours playing with our tanks. the little deamon has a thing for my late modle tiger 1 and often scofs it when i am not looking. so i fixed the little guy and bought him one for christmass . he just did not enjoy the lockheed mlrs as much as i had hoped he would. "granpa it looks to much like a truck" the honesty of a child.
