Hello,
I've got myself a HL Tiger 1 but am looking for a better battery and charge pack than the stock model as my first upgrade. My knowledge of these things is quite poor. I know it has to be 7.2v but thats it!
I did go over the available information on this but didn't get a satisfactory answer from them and i'm slightly paranoid about blowing up the board. The tanks is a new HL S&S Tiger 1 with metal tracks and gear box. I intend to add metal wheels and a part metal chassis and suspension at some point.
Bill

Re: HL Tiger battery upgrade
Some good 5000mAh batteries out there now, will give a longer run time but may be slightly larger than your current pack.
Generally speaking the Volts (V) tell you how powerful the battery is, the milliamp hour (mAh) gives the capacity of the battery.

I use 3800mah batteries from rctank.de
Smart charger is a goog investment. they go onto trickle charge when fully charged.

You'll need a suitable charger but 7.2v LiPo packs mean you can have up to 5000mah in a pack the same size and lighter than a traditional pack.

Just be careful how you charge and look after them!

Re: HL Tiger battery upgrade
For me the 3300-3600 MHA Batteries from Radio shack work great, 45-60 minute run time. No danger of fire,no special charger.
But the first thing to consider is drive system? What gearbox and motor combination are you using? Do you intend on upgrading the drive system? What about weight? Once complete what will your tank weigh. And then what power is required to maintain good run times?
So consider the issues and they will help you make a better choice, or just buy the biggest battery and let fly the dogs of war.
cheers Sax
