Tiger 1 Exhaust Detail

Post by Mackem »

Hi All,

I was browsing through one of the free books I've downloaded on the African campaign when I noticed this picture of an early Tiger 1
in Tunisia. I don't think I've ever seen any models of the early Tiger 1 with exhaust covers like this. Get the styrene out lads.  ;D ;D ;D

Cheers

I have been working on converting my Tamiya Tiger 1 into the 142 of the 501. So far I am at the stage of doing the Tropen paint scheme. It is a 2/3 to 1/3 camo. I haven't done the exhaust shields or rear flaps yet. I figured I can do them later. I want to get it usable then do them. Here are some pics in various stages. The 2nd to last is the camo , but I need to make it a little darker.

You have nothing to fear, but fear its self. Or maybe a KT too!

Thanks tiger205. I am trying. I have experimened with different materials. I want to make them brass, Styrene would be easier, but will it look realistic (bends, louvers, dings and dents). Also I have to scratch build the rear fenders .
