My attempt to hide battle unit
My attempt to hide battle unit
Hi Guys have made my first attempt to hide DBU hope it works havnt had time to test it yet hope it works .This is all your fault Chris said I would give it a try thought this one on the Tiger would be the best to start on .Have Panzer 3 and 4 to do plus the Stug .from the photos you will see 4 sensors and 3 lights the conection for the fourth light I have an Idea which if it works will post later ,Still waiting for some info from Blitz for this .In the photos you can see I have used some negative film for daylight fillter and plastic on the inside these are the baffles cant fit them on the outside so put them inside the electronics were easy to do just had to add shrink wrap to the legs of sensors and leds .
regards pete
P.S Chris I want to know what you think

that looks rather excellent! much better than having a big cylinder sticking out the top of the tank.

great job mate, thats something to beproud of!!

Re: My attempt to hide battle unit
That looks spot-on Pete. I did my Panther and Tiger the same way. Using negative film for daylight filters should work too. In any case, setting the sensors deep into the cupola tends to cut out direct sunlight anyway. You must set it up to see if works Pete and if you can do some range testing too (if you can find any sunlight to test it in that is!!).
Really good work. Maybe we'll see more people having a go at concealing the ugly 'mushrooms'

Hey Pete.
It looking great, if you want more LED's you just replace your 100 ohm resistors with 33 ohms, ( but you use 4 instead of the 2 x 100 ohms ) and if you follow the circuit on the board 2 of those resistors are direclty going to two of the LED/s!, on the legs of those LED's you can run in series anohter LED since you have lowered the resistor! The other two LED's are down the line from those resistors and that is where after those two LEDs you add the other two 33 ohm resistors. ( one resistor on the negative leg of the LED that you are adding in series or piggy backing on the other resistor) Here is a picture of what I am doing maybe that will help, or if one of you guys who have a good draw program can write if out would be much appreciated!
