Election in Wartime

Post by Saxondog »

In the year 1933 many famous people and leaders were cast into the world stage. In Germany Adolf Hitler would come to power through an election and political back room pressures.

In America Franklin D.Roosevelt takes office as the 32 president of the United States, he would be a leader without equal in the past or present for America. He would also lead us into war.Through many programs developed without congressional consent or approval he would start many building projects, and government programs in an attempt to end the great depression which had begun in 1929. He would also find himself elected four times which had never happened before or since.

On the other side of the planet a New German Leader also came to power through an election,he would start many programs to put Germany back into the world as a powerful Nation.

And many felt the German leader was no different than the American president on many issues. Tomorrow will mark the anniversary
of the Nov.5th election that gave the White house to a man that would reach Dictatorial powers as the conflict became a world war.

By 1940 Roosevelt was a leader without equal in the world, controlling the biggest industrial nation on the planet to war. He would also be elected to a fourth term yet die before seeing the Victory take place.

An interesting situation, similar to our recent election, but hopefully this election will not see a world at war.

The stage has been set, the world leaders by this date Nov.5th 1940 are locked into their own worlds and idealistic power struggles for World domination. Hitler, Roosevelt, Stalin, Mussolini, Churchill, Tojo, Franco, Chaing-kai-shek, Mao Zedong , Petain were the major leaders at this critical Date in 1940.

But all these leaders of several different political idea's had the domination of first their own countries and the fight for world domination. Looking back the situation does not seem as complicated. But considering the world situation, the world wide depression many people were weakened and easily manipulated.

The stage is set by Nov.1940 and the forces of these leaders political systems are fighting for the control of Europe, Asia and Africa. So which leader in Nov.1940 seemed to have the best chance of winning?

This is the discussion I am trying to promote, in 1940 their were no clear winners. So post your view and through discussion we may all learn something about the Environment that created the Tanks we all build.
