Leopard Tank Transporter

Post by FireflyKeith »

Had a break from building tanks for a while and ended up building this :/ i think i will stick with tanks in the future as they are easier to find room for, this thing is over 5 foot long :D

Thanks for the comments guys, and Alan you have done a great job yourself, i think the yankie trucks look great

This one started life as this
Image
it is a Bruder truck that was quite toy like before the make over, the generator unit was scratch built as was the trailer, apart from the rear axles which are from a Bruder low loader trailer, then i painted it olive drab and give it a good weathering.

Unfortunatly it is not RC (yet) so if anybody has any knowledge on how to RC a Bruder truck, im all ears :D

Cheers Keith

Thanks for the info Keith, well at least mine is RC, the cab is a 1/14 scale Tam King Hauler,
like the Tam tanks, it has great engine starting and running sounds, plus air brake, gear change and reversing beeper noise.
The low loader is a converted Bruder flat bed trailer , (that name is obviously familiar to you).
The low loader has repeater, working tail, brake, reversing and indicator lights as on the cab.
Still working (when I get a chance) on getting the ramps to operate via RC.

Kieth, I would love to see a built thread? But if that's not possible I understand. Excellent job,I'm very impressed really like the entire vehicle especially the trailer.

Alan, your build is likewise impressive.Peterbuilt?

Blimey, there is a whole world of posibilities from Bruder.

I'll have to give it some thought oneday.

I'm thinking this would be a nice project. No fancy steering needed and could be 4WD.
