Finished tank.

And here is where it started:

Hi all,I recently got this Panzer 111 in kit form.
Set contains
Panzer 111 upper hull and turret,with bb shooter elevation and rotation motors in plain desert colour.
5CM metal gun
Brass smoke launchers
Detailed air boxes with brass grill set
Asiatam metal Hull
Asiatam Eastern tracks
Asiatam metal road wheels with rubber tires
Metal sprocket and idler wheels. (2 sets of idlers)
Asiatam metal gearbox
Metal mg
Metal headlights
Metal turret side hatches

Begin with some work on the hull. Removed most of the tools. still some work left. Remove plastic turret hatches cut openings and fit hatches, fit air boxes and brass grill set.

Cut out driver and radio operator hatches and fit to brass hinges,

Turret work: Cut away turret box,Replace hand rail.

Looking good John, very detailed. excellent really, let me know when your ready to paint and we can review the techniques OZ demonstrated to me. SAX

Hi John, nice build you have going. Are you modeling the PIII in the picture? Just curious as I find it interesting how we all decide on which units to model, cheers Blake

Hi Blake.
Just using it for details. No idea about paint job yet. Still looking for inspiration. It is a fairly late model but I will paint what looks good rather than somthing historically accurate.

That's me, because the paint beyond the factory was crew applied based on what they needed for the area they were fighting in anything could be possible,of course the colors they were issued plays a part. In your first few pictures I see crewmen in boxes in the background are these from the site you posted?

Started applying a base coat this evening. Looks like more patctice at dark yellow. The figures in the boxes are from the US seller on Ebay. Has good selection at good priced. He also has some resin accessories in 1/16 scale. Nice set of jerry cans. I have a large flames of war 1\100 scale Panzer army. Started touchung up the tanks with the airbrush this evening. About 70 tanks 30 armoured cars and support troops,
