Snow Leopard ignoring tranny

Hi there, I've recently started with a heng long snow leopard and trying to upgrade it to S & S but not having very much luck got all the bits but its dead???? lol tried swapping rec, crystals and rx18 All that happens when I turn it on is the lights on tank flash,Transmitter shows a red light but I think its fallen out with the tank lol now I'm stuck any thoughts??? hi nick try another set of crystalls if you have some also i know you have not done this but check any way
rx cyrstal to the tank and the tx one to the transmitter check that the pins make contact when you power up your tank do the lights come on ?

Hi there tried 3 sets of crystals and they have a tightish fit in both tranny and rx, plus when the tank is turned on the lights flash constantly , still nothing regards Nick

ok is it an rx18 board or a early tx14 it sounds like you have a reciver board issue or a main board one when you look in the tank you can tell what one you have by looking if its a green board it will be a14 if it in a black box and the wires plug in its an 18 one but it sound like one is not working if the tank sits there and you have no sound or movement its try one thing at a time dave by the way is it a smoke and sound tank dave

hi nick i had a problem like yours i put in all new rx18, receiver, switches and cables went to turn on lights flashed then nothing after a few days i found the sound control nob was wired wrong so give that a try

Thanks dave and chris after methodicaly checking and trying you suggestions I FINALLY cracked It, I bought a new heng long transmiiter and hey presto engine sounds and smoke, well sorted cheers guys I just gotta practice my aim now lol ( and my driving lol ) Nick :clap: :thumbup:

Wondering if we have any tecchie/electronics wizards on the forum here that might know just how to tweak some of our problems????????

I had the same prob with a few Heng Long Tanks..Bad connection with the receiver board...Usually the push connector...Try unplugging it then reconnecting it...if that dont work spry some contact cleaner on the boards and push connector's..

I might try this to, I've a temperemental Kv1.
Electrical sovent cleaner in aerosol. Totally sorted an electric guitar with it.
