Tiger I idler wheel and tread issue!

My HL Tiger I throws the treads very often. The idlers seem to have too much play no matter what i do and the halves separate. The metal upgrade trcks from Mato didnb have instructions so I tried to install them as is at first u til I noticed they were too tight. I then added 1 link as 2 links was way too loose. Regardless dirt and such gets lodged in the tracks and makes the sprokets jump off.

I have an Asiatam chassis on the bench and I'm wondering if the issues I'm having is mainly because there is no tensioner or if when I transfer the metal sprokets and track if I'll have the same issues.

Also the metalchassis didn't have any instructionand I was unsur if I was supposed to use a bearing to mount the idlers to the tensioner with the supplied axles. And if there wa a trick to installing the center cap on te sprockets as mine seem very tight.
