Tripartite (Axis) Pact signed. Sept.27,1940

Post by Saxondog »

Seventy years ago the Axis powers signed the the Tripartite(Axis) pact. This document was a chilling insight into the world as divided by Germany, Italy and Japan. They also agreed to military support of each country becoming a solid block of military power and a threat to world peace. This document assured Japan of a victory in China and Manchuria. With Russia focused on Germany they were unable to fight a two front war, this being the main purpose of Germany signing the pact, and the main reason for Germany later in the year declaring war on the United States.

The signing of the pact also would ensure the conflict becomes a World War, and a war of Good versus Evil as the freedom we now enjoy was paid for by many millions of civilians, solders , airmen and sailors who paid the ultimate price for our freedom.

We must not forget the cost of freedom, at the time this document was signed Europe already under German and Italian control had lost their freedom. Now the focus was change and America would realize that it was in fact a World War.
