Hi All

Have nearly finished my first HL Tiger 1.

Have to finish off camo, turret motor and wiring put back apart from reconnecting the
wires to the lights, ( not tested yet ).

" just been watching rugby and enjoyed the beer ".

Don’t know yet whether to buy decals or paint.

Enjoyed it that much bought two more Tiger's to work on.

just to let you know.

used a double connector to refit the two wires going to the lights.

give it a dry test run found that the turret was not turning tidy,
took it apart and found that the motor wires were catching on the turret
cog.

give a test again OK now .

have noticed when i've taken the wheels of i'm having a bit of plastic
around the screw is this common .

I am looking at the HL Tiger I as a next purchase to join my Panther G, Pz IV and Stug III.

I was wondering if yours is "stock" (metal gear boxes, plastic tracks), and if so how well does it run?

I have heard of them having track problems, etc.

I am trying to sort out if this is because of inherant issues, operation technique, choice of operating area etc.; or we just hear about problems because there's lots of HL Tiger i's out there (i.e. greater number in use = more problem reports that models that are less numerous).

Hi All

Well I've done a bit more to my camo started painting the wheels,
hope to rebuild in the next couple of days " shopping tomorrow ".

I don't know if its only me of what but when I hand paint I always
find bits that I have not done " eyes like clarence the lion".

Still have not decided yet to paint or buy decals, I think I know what
number I'm going to use.

Hi All

I finished my first camo.

Rebuilt and tested it, still having the same noise when turning,
it was not the damaged idler wheel after all .

took the top off and the tracks, with the battery in i run it,
by putting presure on the drive wheels i found that the left hand
side was slipping the gears.

Now I will have to think of either plastic or metal gears

Hi All

Just to let you know .

I've gone for metal gears from Dave " Forgebear ".

Taken out the motors and gears, did not
unsolder them, I snipped the wires and will be
using connectors to refit.

Don't forget to run in the new gears, I use cam grinding compound, other use different stuff. If you use search you will see what others have done. This helps quite the gears and reduces the friction allowing more torque as their is less resistance.
