E-100 JUWA KIT

Post by Saxondog »

This kit is available through WELSHDRAGON and it seems substantial but has anyone built one of these kits and if so is the hull strong enough to be converted into an RC runner? Are the control arms strong and functional? How about the drive sprockets and tracks are they at least as strong as Heng Long or Tamiya plastic tracks? Sax

Hi Saxondog,

These kits are definitely NOT RC'able. I built the Maus and, although the resin parts are very good, they are very brittle. The suspension, wheels, tracks, etc. are all resin and have to be glued together. There were no moving parts on the Maus when completed. Could be ok as template for plasticard or ally build but would be more cost-effective to scale-up a 1/35.

Hope that helps.

Chris.

Hi Christan, just another project for me when I finish the King Tiger with the Paintball system and my Night fighter Jagdpanther. I am grateful for the information and a lower hull from you would solve the RC issue, take care Blake

Would the j'berg e100 barrel work? Failing that maybe a Jagdtiger barrel?

Will you be using the Maus-type turret or the proposed Krupp turret for your E-100?

As for the gun barrel, have you tried looking at some sort of home improvement store? Some copper pipe used for plumbing might be a good start off point.
