Hi Guys,
Glad i found this forum. I've been into RC for many many years and have raced Nitro buggies, owned an off road RC track, flown planes and heli's yadda yadda but have never really got into RC Tanks...........Until now. I've always toyed with the idea but didn't get round to getting one until i bought a WSN T34 last year off ebay my five year old son and i take turns playing with it in the garden but it's just not up to it so i've decided to strip all down, mod it and give a custom paint job. That's project one........ Project two is a HN Tiger 1 that i've just bought (and ordered loads of upgrades from Asiatam etc but i want to find out if tamiya electrics can be transplanted into a Heng Long no probs ? (i.e. dmd unit and so on with my own radio gear)
So far i've ordered lots of detail upgrades like cupola's etc and have also ordered metal tracks and drive sprockets. I'm about to order the uprated gearbox and possibly metal wheels but want to know if the standard hull and suspension can take all this? I've been toying with the idea of just getting the 250 euro asiatam chassis hull, top plate and turret but wondered if anyone has any opinions on these and also some suggestions on whether i need to uprate the electric motors as i'm not sure the HN electronics can handle all this.
Some help/assistance would be most gratefully received!
Thanks
Gary

Re: Hello from a tank noob
hi and welcome to the forum, it sounds like you know what you want from your tiger, ive not got the asiatam hull but the guys on here have alot of praise for them , you can get the hull with all the metal wheels and sprockets , plus the idler all fitted , so if you go this route dont order the wheels yet , fitting the tamiya electrics is very do able and there are posts on here about it , hope this helps

Hello and Welcome Larry, I have the Asiatam Tiger Hull, purchased from Welshdragon well over a year ago. I also tapped the control arms and used 3.5mm shoulder bolts from DURO as axles. The hulls are strong and have been trouble free. Hope you will post some pictures and remember that we have a recommended vendors section, and a black list of vendors as well

Look forward to your build, you seem to have a good plan. cheers Sax
