Hi there. You joined the right site for 1/16 scale tanks...and more!

I guess first decide a basic budget and maybe pick allied or axis design. this will make chosing one easier.

If your budget is 1000$ for a tammy tank and electronics, I would consider the Tamiya jagdpanther for a first tank(comes with plastic tracks).

If your budget is 300$ for upgrades and this really an entry level unit, I would strongly consider a metal track Heng Long panzer III with the Asiatam full wheel hull upgrade.

Have some fun transferring the parts from the HL into the Asiatam hull and have a really nice unit when you are done.

If you are building for an Infra red competition, make sure to get an IR version.

If you want to shoot BB's, get the BB version.

Tons of upgrades for the HL tanks from many vendors here and on the net.

Cheers

hi phil , and welcome to the forum , as xrad says , if you can give a idea of your budget im sure we can help you out , yes the hl pIII is a great little runner, and as stated the tamiya jagdpanther is a good choice, even though its not a tank ;)

hi,with that amount of money i would go for a fully upgraded henglong panzer III, this would include the asiatam metal hull, which makes a good runner even better , the t34 was made by wsn, and can go for silly prices on ebay, but they need upgrading with better electrics

ps im sure when forgebear gets back from his holiday he will do you a good deal

Hi smoggy
is it an older version non i/r or the newer i/r one ?
if its the newer one id have a word with dave forgebear i know he has those in stock

the older ones are like hens teeth as they have better body mouldings and moveable bits where as the new ones are all moulded ie drivers hatch

Hi Smoggy, I would not pay 80pounds 120us dollars for that tank, does that also include shipping? Here is link to a vendor that sells several brands, you can compare the features and get a good idea of the different manufacturers.

BUT I AM NOT SAYING BUY FROM THEM, just a good site for information. Dave is your best bet for purchasing a tank, or even explaining the different brands details.

Rob also knows alot about the other brands, as do many of the members here, my knowledge is limited as to the brans differences.Yet the amount of money you have listed should buy a T34/85 and maybe some upgrades. But know what your paying for up front is really all I'm saying.
