need help

i have installed new metal gearboxes and rx18 in my tiger 1 plugged everything in except the turret switched on nothing happened its dead is there anyway of checking if the rx18 board is any good i bought it new a while ago

It might not be anything to do with the board, when this happened to me, the result was a dodgy power switch. As for checking the board i nicked one from another tank that i knew worked.

This may seem a dumb question but do you have the right transmitter?

The 1s for the rx18 have a button to start the tank,without pushing that nothing will happen

Failing that,turn the volume right up,if you can hear a hissing from the speaker you have voltage to the board

hi you will also need to make sure you have the new volume switch with it as the old one is wired different

i have the right transmitter and i can hear a crackle from the speaker all the switches/cables and board are all new i got them off dave a while ago i had problems putting rx18 in my matorro KT but got it sorted i have tried power from batt straight to board still nothing just a crackle from speaker so it not the on/off switch

Are the headlights flashing when you switch on?
Also try a different crystal in your rx board with another controller.

tried switching crystals still no go i just have a feeling the board is dead would someone here have a rx14 to sell me i hear they are quite good

did you attach it to the turret to see if lights were flashing, and use another controller not just swap crystals?

hi ross yea i swap crystals and controller and plugged in turret no light flashing when i did my matorro KT it would run without the turret plugged in im hopeless at electronics

if the lights aren't flashing and you're getting power to the board it doesn't look good.
