In discussing Tamiya King Tigers the Question has been raised about the differences in the hulls. Some see no difference while others have stated rear decks are different and the turret mounting has a ring on the Porsche and the Henschel does not.
I am posting a few pictures in an attempt to discover the Facts about these two Tanks.

No disagreement? The hulls are not the same? OK kinda shocked that no one debates this issue. Sax
Re: Tamiya King Tigers differences in lower hull
hi Sax
I've now checked my 3 KTs, 1Tamiya Henschel, 1 Tamiya Porsche & 1 Mattoro.
All 3 have the same vents and only the Tamiya Porsche has a rim.
I'll check my reference books and see if I can find any variations but there's no mention in the mods list.
Hope that helps.

Re: Tamiya King Tigers differences in lower hull
I understand about the turrets and KRUPP, but some have even debated that fact. On my Porsche the forward vents extend under the turret and tapper off to an point on the outer edge of the hull. So I guess I will try the link later on as I have to go, but want to get this right. Thanks for the replies,Sax
Re: Tamiya King Tigers differences in lower hull
The first picks have a debris grill over the vents but the actual vents look the same.
Re: Tamiya King Tigers differences in lower hull
But the forward vent tapper under the turret on the Porsche, but the Henschel vents stop and square off, they do not extend under the turret, This difference is what I am trying to clear up. The screens if taken off still show the vents continuing on the Porsche under the turret. cheers Blake
