Torro Sherman M4A1 75mm,"Queen´s Royal Lancers" Oktober 1942

Post by volvospeed2010 »

Hey my friends,

takes a long time that this modell is avaible in germany. Three weeks ago i got it B|

First thing what i don´t like was the Front, it´s way to long
I cut out, some and made place for the new frontpart. For this i used the Originalpart

With an Flame i made this part i little bit hot and formed the Rest with Apoxie

Much better than befor i think

At the next step, i replaced the Orinigal Turret and used an Tamiya Turret, with 75mm Gun.

To make the Tamiya Turret tarnable, i cut out an Groundplate from an PanzerIII and build this under the Tamiya Turret

Buildt in, this works great and it´s easy to do

Also, i used Tamiya Electrical

Next step was the Metall Effect. For this i used Revell Puttin and made this much thinner with Aceton.

You have completed another outstanding rc model. Really interesting Sherman conversion build, excellent transmission cover fix and beautiful camouflage paint finish.

What is your report on to how it runs outdoors? Let us know?

Assuming your model works as good as it looks, maybe I will order the Mato Sherman, to use its lower VVSS suspension hull for my Tamiya top M36B1 90mm tank destroyer project, plus I already have Tamiya Pershing DMD units.

I have a question for you on the turret. Does the main gun elevate and depress? I am trying to figure out a way to make the early mantlet like you have with the elevation feature. I appreciate any tips or advice on this subject.

Thanks,

Phil

Excellent work, not to much a fan of the Sherman but you have done a brilliant job on yours. Phil their is a small Tamiya angled gearbox that works well for elevation or rotation in small spaces. Here is a link,it comes as a kit and I learned of it through another forum member. cheers Saxondog
