motors/gearing

Post by KV1s »

Hi Guys

not sure if this is the right section but here goes

I had my H/L KV1 outside earlier to put it thru its paces properly

It seemed to bog down on anything but the patio/packed dirt, is there a way of improving its performance on the rough stuff as i would really like to reduce its gearing (2 speed) but there doesnt seem to be room for it in the hull and was wondering if they do 380 motors that rev lower and produce more torque (like some 540 size do) ?

I am also going to order the metal track set as the plastic 1s seem to have no 'bite',,wise upgrade or not?

Hi aaron
The best option at the moment is metal gearboxes like the 3:1 metals or asiatam lower profile boxes havent got a KV1 to be sure on fitment but someone like welshdragon or forgebear would help you

the metal tracks are 50/50 some rate them some prefer plastic but imho they do help
with a reasonably good track tensioner fitted they are even better
