infra red LED and apple mount

I am converting my Heng Long jagdpanther into IR rather than the BB version.

question 1.

i have 2 LED's. one muzzle flash and one infra red. i am guessing the infra red one flashes at the same time as the muzzle flash Led, but as i do not have a hole in the mantlet anymore, will the IR led work in the barrel. I.E. got to point the barrel directly at the target to score a hit and no muzzle flash?

question 2

as i do not have the appropriate holes for mounting the apple and connector, which wat round on the 3 pins does the plug go? i have red blue and black wires if they are standard.

the apple has a big pin and a small pin i am sending you the bit it fits into with the wires on it as well thanks dave as for the led yep that will do the job just put the wires donw the barrel and out the back of the recoil unit thanks dave
