Nifty Fifty

Post by torpedochief »

I modified a 50 cal MG. to make it a working unit. It now flashes.

Pretty easy. Take you gun and cut it apart as shown. Drill the easy parts Reciever, flash suppresor, mid section.

For the barrel. Find the mold seem and ever so carefully use a #11 blade to slice along the line. Now use a metal coping saw blade to cut half way through.

Two strands of Fiber optics are then lay inside theslice and secured with CA. Be sure you leave a good amount of the optics at the business end.

Putty up the slice, then sand smooth.

Reassemble the gun using CA

Take an LED. REMEMBER LEDs OPERATE ON DIFFERENT VOLTAGES DEPENDING ON THE COLOR!

I recommend using on that is already in the tank.

Connect your wires to the LED. Use a small bit of tube Brass or Plastic, but with enough inside diameter to hold you two strands of Fiber Optics. Wrape black tape around the tubes until it will fit tight inside a bit of Heat Shrink.

Place the heat shrink over the led and then insert the wraped tube so the end contacts the tip of the LED

Shrink it tight.

Now insert your Fiber optics and securethem with CA.

Connect your LED to an MG Circuit in your tank and there you go!

Enjoy
