Late version PZ.IV help please
Hi Im looking into making my Pz.IV into a late war version . And a post Dec 1944 version . Ive been looking up in books and at photographs . Im looking for photos of the block added to the rear to push the track pins back in place and pictures of Pz.IVs without the lumps on the transmision access covers . So I can date these features . I Know there very late features.

Hi Andy
The lumps on the transmision covers are cooling ducks they were fitted to the PZ 1V right up to the ausf J.And the track pin pusher plate was fitted just below the tow hook and in line with the track. They also removed the motor and the exhaust for the turret the exhaust is on the back plate by the main exhaust box they removed the motor so as to put in another fuel tank. They also removed two return rollers on both sides hope this helps a bit? I"m just on the last bits of my PZ1V/70 LANG starting to look good now just got to get the metal road wheels should have them by the end of the week??? thats it i think if you want to know any more be glad to help if i can All the best Brian....

Re: Late version PZ.IV help please
Hi Brian,
Thanks mate thats what I thought I could be wrong but Im sure I have a picture of a very late Jagdpanzer without those cooling ducks . But I could be wrong . Ive started the alteration of the return rollers and like you say Ive changed it to three . Ive also lowered the rear one . Ive got two sets of late metal idlers and sprockets . As Im doing a Pz.IV Ausf H next. Can I ask were your getting the metal road wheels and how much please or if you done need the plastic ones
although Ive just bourght a set from Dave. I did plan on leaving the HL ones on but change the Sprocket , idlers and return rollers to metal late war ones. Im also fitting mesh removable skirts to this one and sheet ones to my H model. Ive had a bit of practise since doing my late Stug III G.
Many thanks andy

HI Andy
Got the metal road wheels from tankzone the cost: £49.99 they also have rubber tyes with the contintal stamped on them, with free post should have them by the end of the week
by the way the surezen skirt holders were metal tubes not L shape metal. The plastic road wheels they will go in the spares box but if you need them we might be able to sort somthing out as they will stay in the box, already got the tamiya PZ1V ausf J and an F.2 + the jagdpanzer 70/L. Like to see HL do a HETZER could relly go to town on that one... All the best Brian

Hi Andy,
I've for a few detail pics of the PZIV at Bovvy. They are a bit random, but show PE clamp details, intake ducting and track tensioner detail. I almost got one of the track pin remover but the shot is too low.
I'll upload if you want.
Nick
