Name Plate For Your Tank

Do you want a really great looking name plate for your pride and joy? Be nice at a show or a battle.
Here is something anyone can make for little or even no money.
Here is what you need.
1. Clear Lexan or Plexi-glass cut to the size you want your plate
2. Clothing Iron
3. Imagination
4. Page from a magazine or sells flyer...like the ones that come in the mail. If when you touch it the
coating starts to come off on your finger, that is perfect.
5. Blank piece of paper X3
6. Masking tape
7. Your Computer
8. Access to a LASER Printer
9. Clear Tape
Now use the computer to design whatever your heart desires. What ever you want.
Print a test page so you where where and what side the printer will print on.
On the spot of a fresh sheet of paper use clear tape to place a piece of the magazine paper to the blank sheet where the image will print.
Note: Use a sheet with mostly text on it. Better yet if you can find a piece with no writing at all.
Feed the sheet with the magazine page taped to it into your Laser Printer. You might have to try this a few times.
Now lay out your lexan or plexi and secure it to your work surface on two sides.
Remove the magaine page from the sheet you used to run it through the copier.
Place the magazine page with the image you printed face down on the Lexan. Static will help here.
Carefully cover the image with a blank piece of paper. Make sure the magazine page does not move.
Take you iron and heat it using the polyester setting. DO NOT USE STEAM.
Once the iron is heated press down on the cover paper. hold for 10 seconds, Then begin moving the iron back and fourth. Continue ironing for about three minutes.
Take the iron away and let the lexan or plexi cool to room temp.
When cool remove the cover sheet only!
Remove the hold down tape and place the plexi in warm water. Let it soak about 30 miutes.
You will seethe paper from the magazine disolving and your image clear as a bell on the opposite side.
Some paper will be tough to get off. Use only your fignerto gently rub the paper until it all comes off.
Blot the lexan dry. Use deluted window cleaner to get any residue off.
Now you can use it as is or you can place a background behind the lexan or you can paint it. If you are an artist you can paint the tank, whatever you want.
