panther sound

hi all what is the easyest cheapest way of changing the sound on the new heng long panther because i think it sounds awfull

I dont know if its the cheapest way but i fitted the RX18 board out of a Tiger in mine, now it sounds much better

thanks i might try that but is there a way of telling what sound you get if i buy a new one?
i dont want to buy one with the same horrible noise

You would need to ask before you buy, maybe put an add in the wanted section on here, that way the seller will know what tank it comes from, or contact either Forgebear or Welshdragon and see if they can help.

I'm with you there Stug. I hate that sound too! It sounds like the VSTanks, and the sounds they have kept me from buying them. You could always put in an RX14 board if keeping it airsoft, which is what I am probably going to do. From what I've heard, they use the same FETs as the 18 board.

Try a better speaker as the standard speaker sounds a bit tinny.

i never thought of that i will try a different speaker see if that does anything

Try a 1 ohm speaker, they are often in old CD Radio's and things, and fit a 22kb potentiometer from Maplins (less than a £1) to replace the tacky Heng Long volume control. You will get better sound that way. The HL system makes the worst of a bad job, using a decent speaker (though 1 ohm is about as powerful as you can go) and a quality volume control at least allows the highest quality sound to get to the listener.
