got my grubby mits on a leopard 2a6 from evilbay!
£400 posted .. not too bad ...
anyway it was a built kit, that seems in a bit of a sorry state.
here is the ebay listing picture :

i soon discovered after receiving it (in more pieces than it was sent unfortunately) that the guy didn't realize the leo2 lower hull is abs .. not standard tam plastic

however, this doesn't really matter as its getting a nice stripping down anyway!
for now, ive got the metal swing arms, and torsion bar mounting brackets from afv. unfortunately afv have stopped selling the hull bracing kit, so ill have to get from tankzone at a later date (they only dell the one for the buffalo, which is different)
i thought about making a bracing kit myself out of ally, but its alot of work and the idler support piece will be replaces with the metal one, which needs the specially designed slot to fit properly (and provide strength)
ive fitted the metal wing arms:

i haven't got the money for the metal pinions at the moment, as they are the most expensive upgrade, and my job isn't exactly premium money ...
however, i havent been able to remove 1 of the pinions and bushes ect .. because i cannot access it from the back... this is because its the far back one underneath the gearbox, which i cannot remove.
i undid every screw, and it wouldn't budge. stupidly i realised that i hadn't taken the sprockets off first. i removed the outer casing to the sprockets, then came to a stail mate with the tank:

every one of the four Allen key screws are like that. glued to hell in, and most of the thread for ripped off, the the Allen key just slips in it when turned. i contacted the guy, he said he used the tamiya thread lock as per instructions.
if i can get these sprockets off, i cant get the gearbox out, which means i cant take out that last pinion

any advice on this would be much appreciated

on the brighter side, i managed to achieve a small MESS: (got worse after that, not the worst its been, it was so bad once i couldn't see the white table underneath

cheers guys,
Matt
p.s. after looking at those pics, i realize im going to have to take off the metal bits and spray them red oxide lol ) (that or the whole tank anyway)
