Your can wire the fans into the main power lines for your board, here are some pictures of my RX-18 BOARD,I purchased the RX-18 with fan from rccommand, then added the bottom fan.

I remove the smoker out of my HL tanks and use the power outlet on the RX 18 board to power the fan, the only draw back is that the fan is only on when the start key on the tx is pressed

Brel, this may sound like a dumb question but does the fan stay on while the tank is running, or do you have to hold the start button? Thanks in advance, still learning all the ins and outs.....

My TIGER VI is very heavy and the power drain on the RX-18 board requires the extra cooling,Graupner speed 400 motors and a 3:1 gearbox draws a lot of amps. And the added weight of the Asiatam hull, steel wheels, tracks, and sprockets all contribute to the heat generated.Fan cooling has been shown to decrease the heat. That being said it's really up to the individual tank, weight, options, gearing, types of motors, and other modifications that would require a fan cooled board. How you chose to power the fan is also dependent on the types of mods,I have working smokers in my tanks, also the original fan cooled RX-18 from Bill@rccommand comes pre-wired into the power input socket of the board, when I added the second fan I chose to power it the same way.I should also mention that I have a 3300mah battery, but once again this is a choice I made based on my TIGERS power requirements.Really it is up to you to decide if you need fan cooling,if you require assistance working out your wiring I have most of the wiring schematics and will assist you.Saxondog

the fan stays on whilst the tank is running Ie making an engine sound and the lights are on all of the time, if the lights are flashing then the fan will be off along with the tank until the start key on the TX is pressed
