Late Stug III

Post by tankman »

On the scrounge yet again :haha:. Having mislaid ( lost ) the armoured machine gun shield for my Stug III I am wondering if anyone has some ( side, top, front ) views of a very late Stug III with the remote operated machine gun, metal return rollers and pigshead style of mantlet as I am thinking of converting mine to the later type. Any help would be more than welcome. Also has anyone converted the early type mantlet to the later type pigshead mantlet. Once again any help in this department MORE than welcome as my scratch building skills are not the best. Many thanks in advance

If anyone has the measurements for the shield it would be a great help.

hi there allen

the sowes head mantle ... that was not easy to make .. inface it was a basket to make .. i started with a lengh od brass tube .
as the gun barrel and built up the profile with milliput filler ... at the time i was able to borrow a mantle from the bandai stug 4 as a poit of refernce .... like i said its a real swine to do ...

the comanders nm shield .. i will measure and post the sizes a bit later for you .. i may even have some drawings some where and will up load for you and post here
