Post by springbox »

Hi
why did i not find this site earlier. i enjoy building RC, I've taken it upon myself to build type 16 tank, mainly because it has wheels and I'm building it from a model kit as my plans. I though tracks was a bit tough to start with. I would say I'm about half way through building. its 76cm (30inch) long by 31cm (12inch) wide. i have made it a 8 wheel drive, 4 wheel steering. its no where near as good as some of the photos on the site, as they really look so good. but hey, have to start somewhere. look for ward to talking to like minded people.

Wow! The "Type 16" is a Japanese eight-wheel drive armored fighting vehicle. With what model kit are you starting the build? I think photos would be most welcome. And you are certainly welcome here on RCTW.

Welcome aboard. I think making a working suspension, powering all the wheels, and getting the steering angles correct might be harder than just creating a tracked vehicle...at least for me. :) I'm building a B1 Centauro which is similar to that Type 16, but mine will be in 1/16 scale and 3D printed.

I had to look up the Type 16. You thought tracks were a bit tough to start with? Yet you are building an 8 wheel drive, 4 wheel steer MPV? Can’t wait to see what you do when you do tracks. Someday I may attempt something similar.

I’m sure it will be every bit as good as others work, and far exceeding my bumbling efforts.
