Possible issue with reading radio and switch position

Post by Jib »

So as per my other post, I was setting up my new virtual 9 position switch in OpConfig. When I went to do this under the Radio tab, I pressed Read Radio, set Type to Digital (switch) and set Positions to 9. However, when I flipped the switches while it read the ms position correctly, the labeled position always said Pos 1. This was the same with Positions set to 8 and 7. But, when I set Positions to 6, it read the positions correctly Pos 1 through Pos 6.

However, if I left Positions at 9 anyways and went to the Functions tab, I was able to select the channel and assign functions to 9 different positions. After I assigned functions to the positions I wanted, I did Snoop and all of the positions and their functions worked as expected.

So there may just be a labeling issue for switches with Positions greater than 6 in the Radio tab, but it still works, it just looks like it doesn’t when you read the radio.

Thanks for reporting this Jib, it does sound like it's just a labelling issue, I probably forgot to add the extra labels when we increased the max number of positions from 6 to 9 a few years ago.

I'll get that fixed and post an update, but thankfully it still works in the meantime, so I guess we were at least that lucky. :)

Hi Jib, I've posted a new OP Config release, or you can just do a "Check for Updates" in OP Config to download it automatically.

I don't have a radio or TCB to do a test with, but I think the issue should be fixed, I see where I had overlooked the necessary code. But if it doesn't work let me know.
