Motors/ control board

Post by milantankbuster »

Well still trying to get the 1/9 abrams going it's a old 21st century model, have used two 12v dc motors 2750 rpm/250w and a henglong 7.1 board, worked well but just way to hot have just put two smaller motors in no joy, any ideas would be great.

I have been doing a re-build log for my 1/8 scale Abrams from Henglong. It is full metal, so a lot of the motors will be overkill for yours, but the concepts are the same.

If your tank has Airsoft or something similar you should get an OpenPanzer TCB. If not, you could get an SGS or Beier. All three of these allow you to use external ESCs, which you will need.

Both the creators of OpenPanzer and SGS have gone above and beyond for me, so I cannot recommend them enough. However, SGS is not currently shipping to the US because the doesn’t want to deal with our tariff BS (I don’t blame him one bit).

I have the OpenPanzer TCB, originally bought from Motion RC in the US, and it has given me the flexibility to do all sorts of weird stuff on my tank, It has been great for me
