New project.

My StuG-A needs some cleaning, grinding and cleaning before I can spray it in Panzergrau, and I discovered I need to order a new rattle can, so this assault gun is pushed aside for a short time.

In the meanwhile I bought a new HL StuG from Ali a while ago.
Costet me €128 shipping included.

The plan is to ad the Winterketten I had on the Early StuG before, onto this one.

This is what it should turn out in the end:

During the past weeks I emptied the lower hull, ordered metal sprocket and idler wheels, mounted the Saukopf Blende, cut out the plastic grills and replaced them with parts from a kitchen sieve (as always).

All guys are almost finished by now, received some clear varnish matt and got a bit altered.
Some minor things need to be done but that‘s for later.

Things to do next:
Making a luggage rack at the rear.
Making the brackets and so for the Schürzen out of brass.
Sawing Schürzen out of 0,8mm aluminum, planned to make just 2 of them on each side.
Took the headlight off already and took the LED out of the driver‘s vision port, did cut the round plastic LED holder out of the vision port too.
I must also get rid of that escape hatch above the roadwheels.

Still in doubt whether I should change the position of the return rollers….
From front to rear they should get 3-5-5mm higher.
But I am a little scared to start this cutting…..
Still thinking about it!

There are no plans to buy more detailed stuff, like tools and so on.
I bought this StuG because it was very cheap, I liked those Winter Grenadiers, and all my other StuG's have a crew with tankriders of their own.
Also it has the plastic gearboxes inside, but what would you expect for a StuG from €128....?
That's no issue for me anyway, got plenty of other armour to drive around which have all metal parts needed.
To be continued!
Rob.

Finally I decided to work on the returnrollers.
Been busy all day repositioning them and I also removed the escape hatches too:

Next step, filling the gaps underneath the rollers with poly strips.
Than I can start with putty to make it all smooth.

Ole Dr Hacknslash!!!
Great start Sir, of course your figures are the star for me so far !
I need to get one of those commander figures.

For the record, how much do the rollers need to be raised by?
All the same height and by what mm ?
All plus 5mm?
