Heng Long PDSGB gearbox and MFU compatibility
Hiya all,
I just purchased the henglong PDSGB for my t90. A friend of mine wanted to try it out and jammed the throttle. Seems like the current draw destroyed the cap on the tk 7.0 board (and maybe more) now the board doesn't turn on.
I'm thinking of getting a couple of fuses for the main mortor line and maybe upgrading to the tk 7.1 board as documents say it has better current handling capability and better over current protection.
How should I go about it? Get a replacement tk 7.0 or a new to 7.1?
Thank You!!

I hope you didn't get the plastic version of the PDSGB. It's pure garbage compared to the original superb DKLM version
Re: Heng Long PDSGB gearbox and MFU compatibility
I think modern tanks really benefit from having a TK7.1. Gives you the ability to do things like servo recoil and elevation, gun stabilization, servo periscope control. They also have two servo ports for dual current gearbox motors, which I thought was the gearbox you were talking about, but maybe it’s for a dual motor ESC instead?
And yeah, I’ve heard nothing but bad things about the plastic version of the gearbox you mentioned, so hopefully you didn’t get that.

I got the one with metal insides and plastic outside but slapped my own machined metal coveringPanzermechaniker wrote: ↑Sun Jun 01, 2025 5:52 am I hope you didn't get the plastic version of the PDSGB. It's pure garbage compared to the original superb DKLM version

I have some of the plastic versions in my 3D printed tanks and they've been working fine, but they also have bearings supporting the shaft on the hull and those tanks are pretty light.

Mine has been flawless and has lasted longer than my DKLM. Gearbox quality can be a crap-shoot at best. Got mine from Forgebear and quiet as can be. Just one man’s experience of course.

I'm didn't think they worked with 7.0 boards, least when I tried it it didnt
Re: Heng Long PDSGB gearbox and MFU compatibility
I know for sure they work with the 7.1 as I have a 7.1 in the Kranvagn. I guess I've never personally tried on the 7.0. The instructions don't have any notes saying it's only for the 7.1.
