Hi everyone,
I recently purchased one of the metal Dual Current drive gear boxes, when I put everything together and hit the accelerator and turn sticks on the controller after every loop the right side of the motor hops kinda lifting the gearbox every rotation.
Am I doing something wrong here when aligning the shat with the gearbox?
Should I just RMA it?

Re: Help with assembling Heng Long PDSGB gearbox
Did the grub (aka "set screw") get torqued down enough that it's not sticking up into the area where the gears mesh from the out shafts to the gearbox? If it's as tight as it can go and still sticking out, you can drill a small divot in the flat part of the out shaft to get the set screw to go deeper. It can sometimes also be tricky to put the gearbox in and slide it into the gears. There is a little "L" that locks into the bottom of the gearbox when you slide it into place.

I've screwed it down as tight as possible, the area where the gearbox slides into is completely covered and seated.tankme wrote: ↑Sun Jun 01, 2025 3:39 am Did the grub (aka "set screw") get torqued down enough that it's not sticking up into the area where the gears mesh from the out shafts to the gearbox? When I power on the motors the one on the left works perfectly fine, but the right one jumps after one complete rotation. I believe it has something to do with how accurately the gear was manufactured (the one that connects the gearbox to the drive shaft)
Do you have any recommendations, should I file it down and see if it works or as henglong for a spare gear?

Have you also switched your control board to the Dual Current Motor setting?

Re: Help with assembling Heng Long PDSGB gearbox
I figured the issue out, seems like Heng Long had left a tiny bit of the drill bit in the gear from when it was manufactured. When the tank would move it would pop out and make it jump like the way it did.

Wow. Never heard of that crazy stuff happening. Good job on resolute issue. Hope there’s no damage resulting.

Oh, I have: it happened to a REAL tractor I bought in 1995. Dropped it into gear and the most awful grinding set up. A mechanic came out to check, asked me to put it in gear and release the clutch. I winced, said, "O.K." He quickly yelled "Stop! Stop!" The brand new tractor had to be split, and after slugs of machine steel were found inside the transmission case, a new transmission was installed.
