Great site. But what a shame to see that late Tiger rusting away. Shame Bovington can't get hold of it.

Thats the Vimoutiers Tiger. Been there, you can just climb all over it as it is parked on a concrete block in a rest area next to the main road. It isn't rusting away, in fact considering that it is parked outside and has been since 1944, it is in excellent condition.
There are no internals, and the rear has a couple of holes in it as tank crews were under strict instructions to place charges in them before abandonment. Mysteriously the Tiger 131 was not blown up by its crew and no one knows why.
You will see comments on the Vimoutiers Tiger all over the place, and I have lost count of the number of people who say 'I f I won the lottery I would pay for it to be restored'. I have said it myself, even if only to restore it to a free standing, fully equipped version with no engine, and a proper paint job (I am sure Oz would volunteer!).
