Mismatched Function/Trigger Source

Post by Jib »

So I’m working my way through setting up a DasMikro mini with the OP TCB. I’ve loaded some sounds, set the parameters and diagnostics in the DM, I’ve created some basic function/triggers (engine on/off, cannon, machine gun, lights), but I’m now trying to create a volume up/down function and a play user sound once function.

In the wiki these are shown as digital trigger source functions, but when I go to select a trigger source after selecting one of these functions, it only shows my analog trigger sources, instead of digital trigger sources.

When I pick a function like set deceleration level, it only shows digital trigger sources, instead of the expected analog.

Setting the other triggers I mention worked just fine, but for some others it seems like the expected trigger sources are the opposite of what it says in the wiki.

Given that I have set other functions/triggers successfully, does anyone have any idea what I might be doing wrong with these particular functions?

I'm using a rotary volume knob with the TCB so I'd be no help.

From your transmitter? If so I would rather do that, that’s what I do with my Elmod Tanks. It looked like the only way to do this with a TCB/DasMikro Mini was a 3 position toggle switch. Is there another way?

Hello, I don't know if this would be of much help, but there is this on the forum? blog of the great master of on-board electronics, Rad….

See also his blog post "Tips and Gadgets" for another topic on this type of turntable. The attached link refers to a Chinese copy. Here's my modest contribution.

Not from the transmitter. It's on the tank.

Man. Yeah, I’d really like a way to do it on the transmitter, but right now it’s low on my list of stuff to do.

Hi Jib, my apologies for the trouble you've been having. I posted this in your other thread (Does TCB need to have ESCs plugged in to get sound?), but I will repeat it here for any others that come across this.

A bug was introduced in the last release of OP Config (v0.94.00), that causes the issue you have discovered, that on some occasions the trigger sources presented to the user for certain functions is the opposite of what they should be, in other words, analog triggers are given for digital functions and vice-versa. I have posted a new release that fixes this, v0.94.01.

Hey I think I may have found another function/source bug. I was going through programming function/triggers for user sounds, and for some reason, for User Sound 4 - Play once, I cannot select turret stick as a Trigger Source. I can only select Aux channels 5-11 (these are all set as analog), throttle command, engine speed, vehicle speed, steering command, turret rotation command, and barrel elevation command.

I can select turret stick as a trigger source for User Sound 4 - Repeat, and User Sound 4 - Stop, and for all other User Sounds. Just not with User Sound 4 - Play Once.

Hi Jib, what you describe does indeed sound like the same problem - you are being presented with analog triggers, when you should be getting the "digital" ones. Unfortunately I am not able to reproduce that error on my end, "User Sound 4 - Play Once" gives me the correct triggers.

I don't know if it is possible for you to post your OPZ file to this forum as an attachment? I could take a look and see if maybe some unique combination of settings has made this appear. If not, you could attach it to a post on the Open Panzer forum.

I’m just re-reading this now, still can’t use user sound 4 play once. I will try to remember to try to post my config file here. If nothing else I will try on the OP forum.

Also, I’m having trouble triggering user 5 and 6 play once (turret stick upper right and turret stick lower left respectively) whereas user 1 and 2 trigger easily (turret stick upper left and turret stick upper center respectively). They (5 and 6) will only rarely trigger with the correct stick position, whereas 1 and 2 will trigger correctly every time.

Does this ring a bell? If I get time I will try to switch the triggers and see if that makes a difference, or if it’s something to do with user 5 and 6.
