Aussie Challenger2

Post by Gav »

Hi all,
About 14 years ago I bought a heng long M41.
loved it, didn't touch it for a few years etc.
Went to get it out recently and found the gears had stripped.
So, I thought I'd buy myself a new Rc tank and this time I went with a heng long 1/16 challenger 2, as i'm a fan of this tank.
As much as I liked it representing the British, I thought I'd model it as a "What if" and modeled it as an Australian tank (purists look away :haha: ) as a alternative to the Abrams and changed a few subtle things on it such as the numbering and general 'vibe' of it.

I've still got many more things I'm going to change or modify on it but so far, it's coming along nicely.
Here's a few pics of it in the meantime.
Anyway, I'm open to feedback on it and suggestions etc.
Keen to see some other 1/16 challengers here and see what others have done too.

Cool tank. I hope you have found our dedicated community of Challenger bothers? Currently headed up by Zooma, and his excellent build. Australia’s camouflage is interesting and would look different on your “what if”.

Your Challenger looks great! I am currently doing a bargain basement busted budget conversion of mine to HengLong 7.0 and then intend to build it rather stock but as well as I can.

Looking good.

Can always trust a bloody Aussie to lift it's skirt and flash its rear end. 😁
