Chipping a different way to me

So Stian Sollie shared this method with me not too long ago and just reminded me today so I tried it out. It's liquid latex mask that I got awhile ago for something different. Simple to do, paint the color you want to chip to, use a piece of sponge and dab this stuff very slightly where you want to have some damage. The slighter the better. It's literally the same as using sponge and chipping after the final coats but the cool thing with this is if I don't like what I've done I can remove it so easily and redo. Then paint over it. When it dries just rub your finger over it and it just rubs off.I used an old toothbrush to clean it up after.

Thanks Mr. Chef. I've always hated chipping. That looks like a cool technique and finally after 2.5 months packages are arriving for me to finally finish a couple of Panther builds. Will it work with Tamiya lacquer spray bombs?

Oh for pity's sake! I first used liquid masker in 1980, probably even earlier! Why couldn't I think of such a simple idea? Heck, one could even used a toothpick and place chips exactly. Thank you, Mr. Chef.

Damn I just realized I was looking for any sort of liquid mask a month ago to cover the windows on those great cheap little 1/16 RC Beetles and there is nothing in the Toronto area and what was available online was ludicrously marked up

Will it work with Tamiya lacquer spray bombs?

Should work just fine as long a the paint layer isn't too thick.

Heck, one could even used a toothpick and place chips exactly.

I was thinking the same thing but it dries very quickly so I'll play with it a bit to see what's possible. The sponge dabbing works very well though.

I grabbed this over a year ago. It was like $8.00 at the time. Humbrol also sells the same stuff.

AND after I bought it and showed my wife she was like, they sell liquid latex at the Party City store for costumes and makeup. She also has a bottle of it leftover from when she did nails, they sell it at beauty supply stores too.
