Seeing this I'm going to go back to the old idea of the T48 (AKA SU-57 in the USSR).

Very cool build. There are so many variants of the US half-track. Would be nice if these things were still cheap like back in 2018 when I bought mine for $160 shipped.

Ah, Herr Hamm: you have triumphed again. As always, I am impressed by what you experts do with 3D printing. But this time, I am also impressed by and curious about the electronics you used to coordinate the tracks and steering.

There is nothing to coordinate...Herr Dr. Professor wrote: ↑Sun Nov 10, 2024 9:24 pm But this time, I am also impressed by and curious about the electronics you used to coordinate the tracks and steering.
The Torro Halftruck is easily controlled via the front wheels.
The tracks are driven via an axle with one motor and a differential.

"The Torro Halftrack [...] tracks are driven via an axle with one motor and a differential." Thank you for the clarification: I saw the replacement electronics and thought the whole drive might be different from the stock Torro M3.

Good morning Herr Dr. Professor...
This solution is much simpler - and that's why Torro has done the same with the current 251.
A Famo has two gearboxes, each with a motor and the steerable front axle....
This requires a half-track steering system or a programmable remote control.
