Help needed please
Help required.
I am trying to install a Clark TK50 in the Challenger and I am struggling to get the servos to operate. I have watched some of the video’s from RC Tank Leigon. This is how they are set up. I know one is in the turret rotation port, according to the diagram. Second, I seem unable to get the main gun to make a noise. I have machine gun sounds, but no main cannon sound. What am I missing or not doing correctly? Is there an utter dummies guide to setting these up? I have followed the instructions here. viewtopic.php?t=33510
Do I need to obtain a Sony remote to alter the settings to operate the servos?
What plug are required, specifically the nine pin and the smaller two, and three pin plugs for things like the lights? Channel 1-4 ect.

Re: Help needed please
Have you tried a servo on the servo recoil j2 to see if anything happens when firing the cannon.

Good evening, I only know TK 24? but it seems to me that nothing is connected to CN 3 Flash system socket? and this is where the gun contact (Trigger) which triggers the noise and the flash is connected? unless I'm mistaken? moreover on the TK 50 plate the servo plug J2 is the one dedicated to recoil, J4 = elevation and J 5 = turret rotation, I don't know if I can help you?

There is no 9-pin, but there is an 8-pin connector called CN9. It is a 2.54 JST, but if you don't have a 8-pin JST connector, you can shave off some plastic of the small connectors to get them to fit (IE: 2 - 4 pin connectors or a 4-pin, a 2-pin, and a 2-pin...etc). They are 8-pin because they are designed to use the old HL daughter boards, but you don't need that board to use the Clark. I wire them directly to the Clark via the 8-pin connector. https://www.ebay.com/itm/231148178858?_ ... R7r6qpPfZAMeter rat wrote: ↑Mon Nov 04, 2024 3:41 pm Help required.

Larger 2-pin connectors are also JST 2.54.
Smaller two pin connectors for the IR LED are these: https://www.amazon.com/Micro-Connector- ... r=1-2&th=1
Channels 1-4 use these: https://www.amazon.com/HSF-1-25mm-Conne ... 96&sr=1-10
Yes, you absolutely need the Sony remote to change the elevation setting from ESC to PWM or the servo will not work. There is no work around for that.
Your second servo is in the turret rotation slot, but it isn't working because servo rotate needs to have the Sony remote to change the setting for rotation from ESC to PWM or it won't work.
The recoil servo should work without the Sony remote.
If you have no main gun sound make sure your radio is set up properly. Go to https://dakrctank.com/sbus-board-radio-config/ and make sure channel 9 is setup right. The primary MG is on the right upper roller switch along with the cannon. Roll the switch up for MG and roll it down for canon. The left roller switch is for the secondary MG sound.

Oh I have one of these in my a1. It was a pig to set up. Once the rewiring had been done I then had to spend days setting the board with a Sony remote. Only reason it took days is because I wasn’t saving the settings properly so had to keep starting again
It’s your tank it’s what you make it
Re: Help needed please
the tv remote would help alot .
http://www.clark-model.com/eng/prod_rx50/index.html
if you scroll way down you will see with the remote you enter Function page 2 and set it for different servo operation
if you are looking at getting a full turret 'swing' with the use of servo, then this is the way
let's hear how you are getting on

Re: Help needed please
I’ve got most of this working. The thing I am now struggling with, is the servo elevation. There is only a small amount of movement and it returns to the same position when the stick is released. There is nothing in the up position of the stick. I can get full movement if I plug it into the receiver, but again it returns to the centre position when the stick is released. Please don’t refer me to the Clark instructions, it is gobbledygook to me, due to my dyslexia. Can it be adjusted from the TX, or do I need to use the programmer, which I now have?

So here is my take on it. You need to set the epm1 mode to pwm. As you say that sounds like gobbledegook.Meter rat wrote:I’ve got most of this working. Connect the elevation servo to j4
Then use the remote to go to function page 2. Then press the 1 key till it flashes twice, this should turn on the servo elevation.
If I've talked any crap the I'm sure Mr mekker will be able to set my babble straight

Good luck!
