Hello all just joined and looking to learn and contribute if I can .My partners and I just sold our first tank it was a actual Stuart M5A2that we bought and restored ,as age got the best of us the wives prevailed .not having a tank drove me nuts so the 1/16 mode has started I am currently working on a HL Panther G updated with recoil 7.5cm and and all metal tracks and drive the outward appearance is still a ongoing thing .Being in Iowa and with the weather change I hope to get some real mud and snow weathering .I have set it out in the sun at times and rotated it to get actual sun fade .

Hello from Argyll and Bute. Apparently I am not allowed a real tank, as the wife says we have no where to park it. At least you haven’t bought a Tiger 1 as a first tank.

Parking the ELMO wasn’t that bad we could hide it in a barn at my home and when we needed to play we would run on the farm I own we really enjoyed the parades and the reanacting runs that we were invited to . Sorry to have not posted anything lately,have had some medical issues and just now able to rejoin the ranks
In response to Meter rat we had tossed around the idea of building a 3/4 size Tiger I using 1/4 in thick steel for the hull and turret but after sobering up we changed our minds.

It's a RTR and but has been very popular in the past year. Garden City KS. had one in a park about 50 years ago. I remember climbing in and on it when I was much shorter. Was out there 10 years ago and it was long gone.

Ecam is right: you do need one of those tiny Stuarts. Unmodified from their RTR state, they are too quiet, but I don't find the sound too bad. I did some minimal detailing and painting and let it go at that. Here's a possible U.S. source: https://www.toucanhobby.com/search?q=St ... ix%5D=last

Thanks for the info after checking it out I wish that we had the fine markings on the grousers was fantastic the real ones we had were just a few but they had layed in the dirt for years and rust had done it’s work. I wish that my motor skills were that good anymore because I envy the builder who can do this.
