Here Hamm, again, your skill amazes me, and I congratulate you on yet another triumph. This weekend, I am not at home with access to my books. But I do believe that the same or a comparable variant of the Diamond T chassis/cab was used as a recovery wrecker. In fact, It may have served as a tractor for a lowboy hauler for smaller AFV's and other equipment. You may have quite a few possibilities for more such Diamond T builds.

You are thinking of the smaller 4 ton 968 and its derivatives, quite different vehicles.

Herr Hamm: the Ward La France will make another of the rough and tough-looking trucks at which you are such a master. Behind the real Ward La France in the photo you have posted above, I also see what it think is a Autocar cab-over. I hope you will consider that one soon, too. It is so "funky" looking, but I have always liked it for just that oddity.

I so admire the trucks of yesteryear. Over twenty years ago, in a monthly magazine review article of farm models, I wrote this about an early post-war truck, originally in italics, too:

...I was lost in a reverie. Dust rises and settles as I smack the palm of my hand on the...seat. The engine rumbles; the transmission whines as if winding up to an explosion; muggy 90 degree air flows in under the open windshield and out the open side windows; gravel pings the fenders, rattles the running boards, beats the floorboards, even thumps my boot soles. Ah—when a truck was a truck!
